SABC's Scholarship Information

The Sacramento Area Black Caucus, Inc. will award Rosenwald “Robbie” Robertson Scholarships this spring. The $500.00 scholarships are awarded to students who best demonstrate the standards of academic achievement, leadership, and service to the African American community, all characteristics which the late city councilman and community leader, Rosenwald Robertson exemplified. The awards will be made on May 4, 2012.

Applicants must be graduates of a Sacramento area high school by the end of the spring term, 2013. Applicants must be a recent high school graduate or  a continuing college/university student. Previous award recipients are eligible to apply.  Deadline for completed applications is April 20^th, 2013.

GUIDELINES FOR THE ROSENWALD “ROBBIE” ROBERTSON SCHOLARSHIP

This annual award is made to an African American male and female from the Sacramento area community who meet the standards of academic achievement, community service, and commitment to the African American community exemplified by the life of the late Sacramento city councilman, Rosenwald “Robbie” Robertson. The scholarship awards for $500.00 each will be made on May 4, 2013.

Applicants must have graduated from a Sacramento area high school by the end of the spring term, 2013. Applicants must demonstrate a record of service to the African American community, and a record of academic achievement and leadership. This award is available to  recent high school graduates and returning college/university students. Evidence of admission to a higher institution, or continuing enrollment status in a college/university must be provided.

Applicants must complete the attached form; finalists may be invited to an interview with the selection committee.
